Cold Laser Therapy

What is Cold Laser Therapy?

Treatment

Cold Laser Therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused light energy to help your body heal. This gentle light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by your cells, triggering natural processes that can:

• Increase blood circulation
• Relieve muscle and joint aches, stiffness, and pain
• Decrease wound healing times
• Reduce inflammation

Your treatment plan, including how often and how much laser energy is used, can be customized to meet your specific needs and goals.

How does it work?

In a process called Photobiomodulation, the laser produces wavelengths of light that penetrate tissue and are absorbed by chromophores - molecules in your cells that respond to light. This activates the mitochondria—the energy centers of your cells—to produce more of the energy-carrying molecules of the cell, adenosine triphosphate(ATP), which is essential for cellular repair and function. Unlike regular light, laser light used in therapy has special qualities. It is:
Intense – much stronger than everyday light
Directional – focused on a specific area
Monochromatic – made of a single wavelength
Coherent – all waves are aligned & in sync

These unique properties allow the laser light to target tissues more effectively, supporting healing at a cellular level, resulting in decreased inflammation, reduced pain, and quicker recovery from injuries both acute and chronic.
With over 100 double-blind studies and over 2,500 published research articles backing its effectiveness, Cold Laser Therapy is a safe, effective, and drug-free option that is widely used in physical therapy, sports medicine, and pain management.
